Workshop Mechanic - Gadbjerg, near Vejle, Denmark

About us

We run a workshop about 15 km from Vejle in East Jutland, Denmark, in close partnership between GMT and Nordic Rebar ApS. You will be employed by Nordic Rebar ApS, which is based at the workshop.

GMT trades in used machinery for the rebar industry and is a well-known player in the industry across most of the world.

Together, we hold a large stock of used machines that continuously need to be inspected and refurbished, and we are therefore looking for a mechanic who will make the workshop his or her permanent base.

About the job

As a workshop mechanic, you will be responsible for keeping the workshop running and the machines in good order. Your tasks will include:

· Repair and preparation of used machines for the rebar industry

· Loading and unloading machines and accessories using a forklift truck (a valid forklift/truck licence is required)

· General maintenance and tidiness in the workshop

The workshop has an office attached to it, so you will have good colleagues around you, and we have lunch together.

The workshop has modern facilities, including a laser cleaner for removing rust and dirt, and we place great emphasis on the work being carried out safely and properly.

In the workshop itself you will typically be the only mechanic on a daily basis, so you must be able to plan and carry out your tasks independently.

We expect you to

· Have a technical/trade background, e.g. as a car or truck mechanic, industrial electrician, or mechatronics technician, with good mechanical aptitude

· Have at least 10 years of relevant work experience

· Hold a valid forklift/truck licence

· Be responsible and have a can-do attitude

· Be able to work independently and organise your own working day

· Not be afraid of getting dirty

· Understand and speak English

· Be an EU citizen

Terms of employment

This is a permanent position with Nordic Rebar ApS, on the terms and under the rules and legislation applicable in Denmark.

· Starting salary: EUR 25 per hour, paid monthly

· Weekly working hours: 37 hours - overtime may occur and can possibly be compensated with time off, among other things to allow for more frequent trips home, if needed

· Start date: as soon as possible

· Workplace: Gadbjerg, approx. 15 km from Vejle

· Accommodation (a smaller apartment/room) can be arranged locally - expected rent approx. DKK 4,000-5,000 per month max
