Workshop Foreman / Lead Technician

Cartow Service Centre, Finglas, Dublin

Full-Time | Monday to Friday | €45,000 - €52,000 DOE

Cartow Service Centre is a busy and growing independent workshop in Finglas, operating as part of Cartow.ie, one of Ireland's leading nationwide towing and recovery providers.

Working predominantly with major fleet management and warranty companies, we are seeking an experienced Workshop Foreman / Lead Technician to join our team and help drive workshop performance, quality, and customer satisfaction.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technician with strong diagnostic abilities and proven leadership skills who is looking to take the next step in their career.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Service Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the workshop, providing technical leadership while remaining hands-on with diagnostics and repairs.

Key Responsibilities

· Leading and supporting a team of technicians to ensure efficient workshop operations

· Carrying out advanced diagnostics and fault finding across a range of vehicle makes and models

· Allocating work and monitoring workshop productivity

· Ensuring repairs are completed to manufacturer and company standards

· Providing technical guidance and mentoring to workshop staff

· Liaising with the Service Manager regarding workflow, repairs, and customer requirements

· Maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping

· Supporting fleet and warranty repair operations

· Assisting with technical problem solving and complex repairs

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

· Qualified Motor Technician status with significant workshop experience

· Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

· Previous experience in a senior technician, team leader, foreman, or workshop controller role

· Excellent leadership and communication skills

· The ability to motivate and develop a team

· Experience working in a busy service environment

· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

· Experience working on Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) would be a distinct advantage

· A proactive attitude and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
