Playgroup Leader

Giraffe Childcare Limited is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic Playgroup Leader to deliver and facilitate play opportunities for children in a safe, stimulating environment. The role involves supporting preschool children in both structured and informal settings, promoting independence, confidence and positive social interaction. Permanent/Full-time/40 hours per week. €37,544 per annum at W23 KW6F. Contact careers@giraffe.ie. Key Responsibilities • Supervise children's games and play activities and encourage the development of physical, social and language skills. • Provide play areas and prepare materials for a wide range of children's activities. • Encourage children's independence, self-confidence and social interaction. • Organise and supervise activities in accordance with Health and Safety regulations. • Respond appropriately to injuries and emergencies in accordance with established procedures. • Put away equipment and ensure the premises are clean and organised after use. • Liaise with parents, carers and colleagues. • Maintain appropriate records relating to activities and children's participation. Requirements • 1-2 years' experience in early childhood education or recreation roles is desirable but not essential. • Strong time management and organisational skills when managing groups of children. • Passion for working with children. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Positive and responsible attitude. • Ability to work effectively as part of a team. • Willingness to undertake relevant training and development appropriate to the role.
