Senior Digital Platform Engineer

To be successful in this role you have proven training in information technology, computer science or equivalent and you have a minimum of 5 years of progressive and diverse experience as Software Engineer or Technology Architect. You have experience in managing the operations and ongoing maintenance of core systems/solutions. Your leadership skills are strong and documented.

You have knowledge of following area:

• extensive knowledge of working building and implementing API/Micro services architectures
• understanding of modern data architectures, data extract mechanisms, functional decomposition and business rules engines
• extensive knowledge of technology specifically those used for development of technology platforms
• intermediate knowledge of disciplines of enterprise digital development and technical architecture
• extensive knowledge of the cost drivers in systems delivery and operations and the commercial consequences of the technical decisions made
• excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and communicate with senior business-leaders and Technology Leadership
• knowledge of IKEAs corporate identity, core values and vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people

You have practical hands on experience in platform re-engineering/decomposition and the ability to take own leadership and make effective decisions. You are delivery focus with excellent attention to details and to resolve issues. You also possess good stakeholder management skills, ability and credibility to lead and guide both in house and third party teams.

ABOUT THE JOB

The purpose of this job is to select, manage and build frameworks and design how these frameworks tie together to build a platform that applications and ultimately products can be built on.

You will:

• responsible for different aspects for a specific or a set of digital platforms including front end, Content delivery and scalability, Cloud services, Business logic, physical databases
• responsible for the security assurance of the platform
• analyse all platform level changes and monitor impact for same and provide appropriate technical solutions to resolve all issues efficiently
• provide an efficient interface with various teams and provide appropriate technical support to all teams working on various platforms
• think in micro services and APIs - develop and expand our ecosystem of compostable, reusable, isolated, single purpose services
• create highly testable and stable service implementations
• make important engineering decisions that balance numerous non-engineering factors with technical considerations
• continuously measure and optimize the performance, effectiveness, and uptime of backend services -- participate in a data driven culture
• provide support and guidance as needed to other engineers within the platform team encouraging good practice development methods
• support the common Group Digital site on standards and methods when necessary to ensure alignment across the Group Digital
• support chapter lead in coaching and develop junior team members on functional expertise
• work across initiatives within INGKA Group, steering solutions towards the correct architecture
