If so, Modern American Recycling Services A/S Europe (M.A.R.S.) may have the perfect opportunity for you. We are looking for dedicated Metal Cutters (Hunkers) to join our team. The role involves preparing ships and offshore structures for safe dismantling using oxy-fuel cutting techniques. As part of our hunker team, you will work outdoors throughout the year on vessels and large offshore structures undergoing recycling. About M.A.R.S. The opportunity to work with experienced colleagues in a multinational team. Your Responsibilities Prepare vessels and offshore structures for dismantling using oxy-fuel cutting. Work independently as well as alongside crane teams to ensure safe deconstruction operations. Maintain good housekeeping onboard vessels, keeping work areas safe and accessible. Perform fire watch and watchman duties during cutting operations. Prepare steel sections for safe lifting and removal. Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Has previous experience with heavy oxy-fuel cutting. Holds a §17 certificate (preferred) or has relevant experience in metal cutting or welding. Has experience from industrial, shipyard, or offshore environments. Understands and demonstrates a strong commitment to safe working practices. Is comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Is willing to work at heights using appropriate training and safety equipment. Can communicate in basic English and enjoys working in an international team. Personal Qualities Reliable and meets work consistently. Able to maintain an overview and work in a structured manner. A team player with a positive attitude. Physically fit and enjoys hands-on work. Must not be afraid of working at heights.
