Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant (Psychology) for a research project under the CoTV5 Grant in the Department of Psychological Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The Department of Psychological Medicine at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine is committed to advancing mental health through high-quality psychiatric teaching and training (undergraduate and postgraduate) while serving as a leading centre for mental health research in Asia, integrating education and research with clinical service within the National University Health System (NUHS). More information on the department is available at  Appointments will be made on a 2-year contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible for, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator (PI) to transform research plans into tangible outputs.

Main duties and responsibilities

The Research Assistant will work closely with the research team and relevant stakeholders to support the smooth conduct of the research project. The RA will:

  • Assist with the implementation and day-to-day operations of the research project;
  • Conduct literature reviews and support the preparation of research materials;
  • Coordinate participant recruitment, scheduling and follow-up activities;
  • Collect, manage and maintain research data in accordance with study protocols;
  • Assist with data analysis and preparation of research reports;
  • Support ethics and regulatory submissions, including IRB-related documentation;
  • Liaise with project stakeholders and research team members;
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for project activities; and
  • Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that may be assigned by the PI.

Qualifications

The applicant should:

Hold a Bachelor's degree with Honours in Psychology or a related discipline;

Be able to work independently and in a team, with an investigative nature and attention to detail;

Have good knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office applications;

Demonstrate a strong interest in mental health, behavioural or clinical research; and

Have prior research experience and experience with statistical software (e.g. SPSS, R, or equivalent), which would be advantageous.

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
