Sr/Mechanical Robotics Design Engineer (GD&T & Solidworks)

Our client is a rapidly expanding global manufacturer of highly complex, precision robotics devices

about the job

Own the mechanical design, analysis, and validation of complex electromechanical and kinematic systems (including joints, actuators, enclosures, and structural members).

Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D production drawings across plastics, metals, and composites using SolidWorks.

Set up and run hands-on test rigs (load testing, fatigue, thermal soak, kinematics); collect data to analyze failure modes and drive design iterations.

Execute DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews with contract manufacturers; resolve assembly issues using custom jigs and fixtures.

Create and maintain strict production drawings, BOMs, build guides, and Design History Files in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

skills & experience required

Msc / Degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Robotics Engineering

3 years’ experience in design and development of electro-mechanical / robotics system

Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks. Deep expertise in GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and creating detailed 2D engineering drawings.

Proven ability to run FEA (static, dynamic, thermal) and perform kinematics/motion analysis to inform design decisions.

Experience with legged/bipedal locomotion, high-DOF manipulators, Python scripting for CAD workflows, or sim-to-real hardware deployment.
