The Company

Our client in the semiconductor sector is currently looking for a 1 year contract Operations Buyer to manage end-to-end operational procurement and purchase-to-pay activities.

The Role

The role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end operational procurement and purchase-to-pay activities, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoice clarification, buy-sell processes, material movements, and related commercial documentation within Oracle ERP.

The position monitors demand, inventory, supplier commitments, and delivery performance to identify supply risks, expedite critical materials, and resolve procurement escalations in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

The role provides functional leadership to the Operational Buying team through daily prioritization, workload coordination, coaching, onboarding, and backup planning, while acting as a subject matter expert and key user for Oracle ERP procurement processes.

It also leads operational reviews, KPI reporting, process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives including automation, digitalization, testing, and implementation.

Your Profile

You should have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field, or a comparable commercial vocational qualification with substantial relevant experience. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in operational buying, procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably within a production, high-tech, semiconductor, automotive, or engineering environment. Proven experience in team coordination, coaching, project leadership, or influencing without direct authority is required, along with strong proficiency in ERP systems, preferably Oracle EBS, with SAP, Navision, or similar platforms considered relevant.
