Senior Network Engineer

Administer, monitor, maintain and optimise WAN, LAN and Wi-Fi networks to ensure optimal performance and availability.

Troubleshoot complex network incidents, including latency, packet loss, DNS issues, firewall policies and VPN instability.

Perform configuration, backup and maintenance activities for WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls and load balancers, and maintain accurate network documentation.

Collaborate with regional teams to design and implement new network and infrastructure solutions.

Troubleshoot and optimise WAN circuits while coordinating with upstream service providers.

Manage and coordinate the administration and maintenance of network infrastructure and related systems.

Travel to various office sites and regional data centres in Singapore may be required to perform network-related activities.

Assist with security-related activities and third-party software installations.

Liaise with internal departments and relevant stakeholders on network issues, including outages, service disruptions and network bottlenecks.

Monitor network performance, troubleshoot network issues and outages, and support network upgrades and optimisation initiatives.

Implement and maintain network access and security controls in accordance with established policies and standards.

Apply data-driven approaches to diagnose and resolve complex network infrastructure issues.

Leverage network automation and DevOps practices to improve the efficiency of network management and infrastructure operations.

Perform network capacity planning and performance monitoring to support current and future business requirements.

Collaborate with security teams to ensure network infrastructure follows applicable security, regulatory and organisational requirements.

Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, including network diagrams, configuration guides and operational procedures.

Collaborate with application, cloud and infrastructure teams to optimise overall system performance and deliver integrated solutions.

Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues to support service availability and business continuity.

Technical Requirements

Strong knowledge of IP networking protocols and technologies, including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, IPsec, TCP/IP and QoS.

Hands-on experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, load balancers and web proxies.

Experience with load-balancing technologies such as F5 BIG-IP or AVI Load Balancer is an advantage.

Knowledge of enterprise DDI technologies, including DNS, DHCP, NTP and IPAM.

Understanding of network segmentation, DMZ/perimeter networks, Zero Trust concepts and cloud-based DDoS/WAF capabilities.

Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as SolarWinds, Netscout and Wireshark.

Strong understanding of data centre networking, including spine-leaf and fabric architectures, as well as cloud connectivity.

Exposure to cloud-to-on-premises connectivity and hybrid network environments, including VPN, Direct Connect and ExpressRoute, is an advantage.

Knowledge of network automation tools such as Ansible, Python scripting and Terraform is an advantage.

Job Requirements

Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in network engineering, including enterprise networking, network security, firewall, proxy, load-balancing and/or data centre environments.

Demonstrated ability to lead or coordinate cross-functional technical activities and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving skills with proven experience troubleshooting complex network infrastructure issues.

Educational & Professional Qualifications

A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering or a related field is required.

CCNA, CCNP or relevant professional certifications are preferred.

Firewall vendor certifications such as Fortinet, Palo Alto or Check Point are an advantage.
