COMPANY ACCOUNTANT

Job Summary

You should have a firm grasp of accounting and financial practices and regulations and possess strong computer and verbal and written communication skills. To ensure success, Accountants should be prompt, honest, detail-oriented, professional, and analytical. Top candidates will have excellent presentation skills with the ability to successfully communicate complex quantitative data to decision-makers.

Responsibilities

Manage full spectrum of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions to ensure timely payments and collections

Arrange and process supplier payments and follow up on Accounts Receivable collections to maintain cash flow

Maintain full sets of accounts by accurately entering data into the accounting system and organizing financial records

Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial forecasts to support business planning

Compile, analyze, and report financial data to provide actionable insights for management and stakeholders

Create periodic reports including balance sheets and profit & loss statements for internal and external use

Present financial data clearly to managers, investors, and other relevant parties to facilitate informed decision-making

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, internal control procedures, and Singapore financial regulations including GST reporting

Perform audits and resolve discrepancies to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records

Compute taxes and prepare quarterly GST submissions in accordance with current legislation

Stay updated on changes in financial legislation and accounting standards to ensure ongoing compliance

Assist management in decision-making by preparing budgets and financial forecasts aligned with organizational goals

Required competencies and certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

Proficiency in Xero Accounting Software

Strong knowledge of Singapore financial regulations and GST reporting

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Strong analytical skills demonstrated through financial data analysis and reporting

Effective verbal and written communication skills for presenting complex financial information

Proficient computer skills for managing accounting software and data systems
