Public Relations Officer (Construction industry)

Responsibilities

Serve as the main point of contact between the project team and residents, businesses, stakeholders and the general public.

Manage public enquiries, feedback and complaints arising from construction activities and ensure timely follow-up and resolution.

Conduct door-to-door engagement, site briefings and stakeholder meetings where required.

Inform affected stakeholders of upcoming construction activities, road diversions, noise, access changes and other potential disruptions.

Maintain accurate records of public feedback, complaints, correspondence and follow-up actions.

Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors and relevant authorities to address public concerns.

Prepare and distribute notices, circulars, newsletters and other communication materials relating to project activities.

Monitor surrounding areas and proactively identify potential community or stakeholder concerns.

Support community engagement activities and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders throughout the project.

Assist with incident and crisis communications where required.

Requirements

Diploma/Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration or related discipline.

Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably within the construction, infrastructure or built environment sector.

Prior experience as a PRO on construction projects would be advantageous.

Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills.

Able to handle public feedback and complaints professionally and tactfully.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with project/site teams and external stakeholders.
