Senior Underwriter, Commercial Lines

We are seeking a Distribution Underwriter to join our Property & Casualty (P&C) business. This role combines technical underwriting expertise with business development responsibilities, supporting profitable growth through our intermediary channels, including brokers and agents.

You will play a key role in evaluating risks, structuring insurance solutions, and strengthening distribution partnerships, while ensuring alignment with underwriting guidelines and regulatory standards in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and grow a profitable portfolio of business across assigned distribution channels, build and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries

Assess and underwrite new and renewal Property & Casualty risks within delegated authority

Evaluate risk exposures using underwriting tools, claims data, and financial information

Identify cross-selling opportunities across P&C product lines

Participate in meetings, client engagements, and marketing initiatives

Ensure compliance with internal underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements

Provide market feedback and support product enhancements

Contribute to business planning and strategic initiatives

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related discipline

5–8 years of experience in general insurance

Knowledge of P&C insurance products

Good understanding of the Singapore insurance market and regulatory environment

Professional certifications such as Singapore College of Insurance (SCI) qualifications or Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) certifications are advantageous

Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders
