Senior / Staff Nurse (Pre-Anaesthesia Screening) #HJO

Job Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments for patients undergoing procedures requiring anaesthesia.

Review patients’ medical history, medication profiles, allergies and relevant investigation results.

Identify potential perioperative and anaesthetic risks and escalate concerns appropriately.

Provide pre-operative education, counselling and support to patients and their families.

Review routine blood investigation results and identify critical values requiring escalation.

Perform venepuncture and basic patient assessments, including monitoring and recording vital signs.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Ensure nursing practices comply with established clinical protocols, infection control and patient safety standards.

Requirements

Diploma / Degree in Nursing or equivalent recognised nursing qualification.

Relevant nursing experience in pre-operative assessment, anaesthesia, Operating Theatre, Specialist Outpatient Clinic, surgical or acute care settings will be an advantage.

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide effective patient education.
