Position Title: Technical Support Chemist
Working Location: Tuas (Company transport provided)
Working Hours: 5 Days, Monday – Friday (8am – 5pm)
Salary Package: Basic Salary + Transport Allowance + AWS + Sign-On bonus
Duration: Permanent
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily waste receiving, unloading, verification, segregation, allocation and storage activities to ensure incoming waste streams are properly assessed and directed to the appropriate treatment processes.
Act as the key coordinator for incoming waste discrepancies, liaising with internal departments and relevant stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure smooth and accurate waste handling.
Coordinate waste space management with the Operations team to ensure waste is appropriately treated, received or stored according to operational requirements and available capacity.
Monitor and improve waste treatment processes, workflows and operating procedures, identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, treatment methods and overall department performance.
Evaluate and develop suitable treatment and handling methods for new, unknown or hazardous waste streams, with emphasis on treatment effectiveness, cost optimization and safe handling.
Identify opportunities for waste recovery, reuse and resource optimization to improve treatment value and minimize disposal or operational costs.
Conduct regular inspections of plant processes, work areas, machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with 5S, TPM, safety, operational and housekeeping standards.
Lead and support safety briefings and training for department personnel on the safe handling of hazardous waste, including flammable solvents, MSDS/SDS, PPE requirements, risk assessments and safe work procedures.
Provide technical support to the Emergency Response Team during emergency activations at the plant or customer sites, and coordinate with EHS to ensure emergency equipment, procedures and response readiness are maintained.
Monitor team performance, discipline and operational activities, working closely with Operations and EHS teams to ensure compliance with company procedures, safety requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
Around 1-year of relevant experience in the waste treatment, industrial waste, plant operations or environmental services industry is preferred.
Knowledge of waste segregation, waste treatment processes, hazardous material handling and chemical safety is an added advantage.
