◆Title: M&A Consultant (Cross-Border Transactions)

◆Role Overview:

Our client is a corporate finance and advisory firm supporting businesses with cross-border expansion and M&A initiatives across Southeast Asia and international markets.

This role is responsible for leading end-to-end M&A transactions, managing investor and acquirer networks, and delivering strategic recommendations to senior executives. The successful candidate will work on complex cross-border transactions involving Southeast Asian companies and organisations with regional business interests. The position offers significant exposure to valuation, financial modelling, due diligence, and stakeholder management across multiple jurisdictions.

◆Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage a pipeline of prospective investors and acquisition targets across Singapore and international markets, leveraging professional networks to secure qualified introductions and meetings.

Assess investor suitability and transaction opportunities, and prepare pitch decks, information memoranda, and presentation materials for senior stakeholders.

Lead M&A transactions throughout the full deal lifecycle, including target screening, valuation, deal structuring, negotiation, due diligence, and transaction completion.

Develop and review financial models and valuation analyses using methodologies such as DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transaction analysis.

Prepare financial forecasts and scenario analyses for acquisitions and restructuring activities, validating key assumptions through research, site visits, and stakeholder interviews.

Analyse financial and market data and provide recommendations directly to senior client decision-makers.

Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and alignment with client objectives while coordinating with regional teams and external advisors.

Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned.

◆Requirements:

[Must Have]

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in transaction services, M&A advisory, corporate finance, finance, accounting, audit, corporate banking, trading, or related fields with a strong understanding of corporate finance principles.

Proficiency in  Japanese for liaising with Japanese-speaking clients, business partners, and stakeholders.

Proficiency in  Chinese for liaising with Chinese-speaking clients, business partners, and stakeholders

Experience working with multinational corporations and/or listed companies, or experience supporting such organisations in a consulting capacity.

High level of verbal and written proficiency in English and Chinese to communicate effectively with English-speaking and Chinese-speaking clients, investors, business partners, and stakeholders across regional markets.

Strong understanding of financial statements, with the ability to analyse financial performance and business fundamentals.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently without requiring close supervision.

Strong capability to manage multiple projects concurrently and coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders.

Willingness to travel to Japan and ASEAN countries for business engagements.

[Good to Have]

Prior experience in M&A, transaction advisory, deal execution, valuation, or cross-border transactions.

Background in finance, accounting, audit, corporate banking, trading, or related disciplines.

Advanced financial modelling skills, including three-statement financial modelling, valuation analysis, and scenario modelling.

Experience in business valuation, intangible asset valuation, or financial instrument valuation.

Experience supporting cross-border transactions involving Southeast Asian markets, start-ups, or technology-related businesses.

Strong interpersonal skills, with a confident personality and the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive discussions effectively.
