Recruiter Comments On The Role (Note: Unofficial recruiter comments; not client-provided)

Nature of Role: Review recorded calls, emails and client/account activities of front-office staff to identify potential non-compliance, suspicious activity, risky client handling or control breaches. Where issues are identified, propose corrective actions and professionally reassess or defend findings if disputed. Exposure to transaction monitoring, trade monitoring, controls testing and voice log reviews is helpful.

Anti-Fraud Controls: Current focus is mainly on anti-fraud controls. The role involves post-trade surveillance, call and email reviews, exception handling and identifying suspicious or unusual activity across areas such as money transfers, static data changes, dormant accounts, client/account portfolio reviews and other fraud-related control checks.

Private Banking / Front Office Knowledge: Private Banking or Wealth Management experience is preferred, especially candidates who understand front-office processes, client instructions, account activities and transaction flows. Knowledge of the trade lifecycle and how Private Bankers / Relationship Managers interact with clients is helpful.

Private Banking Product Knowledge: Good understanding of private banking products is useful, including unit trusts, structured notes, dual currency investments, bonds, equities, accumulators/decumulators, foreign exchange (FX), FX derivatives and discretionary portfolio management (DPM). Product knowledge is useful because some reviews may involve investment transactions and client communications.

Controls Testing / Reporting: Candidate should be comfortable conducting QA/control reviews, documenting exceptions, tracking findings and preparing reports using Excel. Strong attention to detail is important as the role involves reviewing supporting records and explaining findings clearly to Front Office and other stakeholders.

Stakeholders: The candidate may work with Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Audit, Operations and COO/support functions when reviewing exceptions, discussing findings or supporting controls enhancement.
