Job Overview
You will be deployed to our client who is a leading government technology agency driving digital transformation and innovation in the healthcare sector. The Network Support Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's network infrastructure. The role ensures the availability, performance, scalability, and security of network services to support business operations and strategic initiatives. The incumbent will work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and project teams to deliver network solutions and provide operational support.
Responsibilities
Network Operations & Support
Manage and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN,Internet connectivity, and network security devices.
Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal service delivery.
Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of network-related incidents and problems.
Support network changes, upgrades, maintenance activities, and service requests in accordance with established procedures.
Implement and maintain network documentation, configurations, and operational procedures.
Network Design & Implementation
Participate in infrastructure projects involving network technology refresh, expansion,migration, and transformation initiatives.
Ensure network designs align with enterprise architecture, security standards, and operational requirements.
Security & Compliance
Ensure compliance with organizational security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to strengthen network security posture.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
Coordinate with service providers and vendors to resolve network issues and manage service delivery.
Participate in technical discussions with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into network solutions.
Review vendor proposals, technical specifications, and implementation plans.
Incident, Problem & Change Management
Manage and resolve network incidents within agreed service levels.
Perform problem management activities to identify recurring issues and implement preventive measures.
Participate in change management processes and ensure proper implementation and documentation of changes.
Provide after-office-hours support and standby duties when required.
Requirements
Bachelor in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certified is preferred
Minimum 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in network support and administration within an enterprise environment.
Experience managing large-scale network infrastructure and mission-critical systems.
Experience in wireless AP installation and deployment, with the ability to coordinate between users and vendors to align technical requirements, expectations, and deployment schedules.
Prior experience in providing L1–L2 network operations support.
Experience in project implementation, network migration, and technology refresh initiatives.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLAN, STP, and routing/switching technologies.
Hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies from vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, Huawei or equivalent.
Experience in managing campus wired and wireless network
Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
Understanding of ITIL Service Management practices.
