About the Role

Akkodis is looking for a Cloud Security Engineer with strong hands-on WAF / Application Security experience to join our Enterprise Services team in Singapore.

In this role, you will support enterprise customers in implementing, managing and troubleshooting cloud-based application security solutions. You will work closely with customers, solution architects, cloud engineers and security specialists to protect customer-facing applications against evolving cyber threats.

This is a WAF / Application Security-focused role rather than a generic Cloud Security position.

Key Responsibilities

WAF & Application Security

Deploy, configure and manage Cloud Web Application Firewall (CWAF) solutions.

Implement and maintain security policies to protect web applications against:

OWASP Top 10 attacks

Layer 7 attacks

DDoS threats

Bot attacks

API security threats

Monitor and investigate security events, alerts and incidents.

Analyse application traffic and recommend appropriate security and remediation measures.

Support customer onboarding, implementation and optimisation of WAF and application security services.

Application Traffic & Troubleshooting

Analyse and troubleshoot end-to-end customer web traffic and application flows.

Perform root-cause analysis for application performance, availability and security issues.

Troubleshoot issues relating to HTTP/HTTPS, DNS and SSL/TLS.

Work with customers and internal technical teams to identify and resolve application security and traffic-related issues.

Provide technical recommendations to improve application security, availability and service reliability.

Customer & Technical Support

Work directly with enterprise customers to understand technical requirements and security challenges.

Provide guidance on application security best practices.

Explain technical issues and recommended solutions clearly to customers and stakeholders.

Support continuous improvement of security services, processes and operational practices.

Stay updated on emerging application security, WAF and cloud security technologies.

Job Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related discipline.

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in WAF, Application Security, Network Security, Cloud Security or Managed Security Services.

Strong preference for hands-on WAF / Application Security engineers rather than generic Cloud Security profiles.

Hands-on experience with Cloud Web Application Firewall (CWAF) solutions.

Imperva Cloud WAF is highly preferred. Candidates with relevant hands-on experience in Akamai, Cloudflare, F5 or Radware will also be considered.

Strong understanding of:

HTTP/HTTPS

DNS

SSL/TLS

TCP/IP and networking fundamentals

Web application security

Cloud application architectures

Strong hands-on experience in troubleshooting customer web traffic and security issues.

Experience analysing application traffic, security events and alerts.

Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and customer communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional technical teams.

Good to Have

Experience with CDN technologies.

Knowledge of DDoS protection and mitigation solutions.

Experience with API security.

Exposure to DNS management and application delivery technologies.

Experience with SIEM / security monitoring tools.

Familiarity with AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Basic scripting or automation experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash or APIs.

Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Security+, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer or Imperva certifications will be advantageous.
