Job Responsibilities
Establish, implement, and maintain quality control plans for manufacturing processes and products.
Ensure compliance with quality management systems, such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, or equivalent standards.
Monitor product quality through inspections, audits, SPC, and process capability studies.
Review and approve inspection plans, control plans, work instructions, and quality procedures.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) using structured problem-solving methodologies.
Act as the Quality Lead for customer audits and visits, working closely with the Production and Engineering teams to ensure all required documents and production shop floor preparations are ready for audits.
Interpret technical drawings and analyse CMM inspection reports.
Perform measurements on critical part dimensions using CMM, micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges, SmartScope, roundness testers, microscopes, and other measuring equipment.
Use departmental Quality Systems, Smart QC, High QA, and NCR modules to perform day-to-day duties.
Generate Inspection Plans for incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections.
Generate Work Instructions for inspection-related processes.
Perform First Article Inspection reports and obtain customer buy-off.
Perform Source Inspection with customers as requested.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other quality tools.
Analyse manufacturing data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for quality improvement.
Support process optimisation to reduce defects, scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
Participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for new and existing processes.
Responsible for the scheduled maintenance and calibration of measuring equipment, jigs, and fixtures.
Support new product launches by ensuring quality standards and requirements are clearly defined and met.
Participate in design reviews and ensure design-for-quality and manufacturability principles are applied.
Validate process changes and engineering updates to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
Generate Process Control Plans and FMEA together with the Engineering team.
Responsible for maintaining the Non-Conforming Product Control and Reject Material Report (RMR) procedures.
Analyse and review Reject Material Reports (RMR) with the Engineering and Production teams when non-conformances are identified.
Work closely with the Engineering and Production teams to resolve any identified non-conformances.
Plan and conduct internal audits and support external audits conducted by customers, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies.
Ensure the timely closure of audit findings and non-conformances.
Maintain quality documentation and records in accordance with quality standards and company policies.
Job Requirements
Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of QC/QA experience in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality methodologies.
Proven experience in a regulated or high-volume manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated track record in driving quality improvements and resolving complex quality issues.
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques, such as Gage R&R, CPK, and DOE, will be advantageous.
Familiarity with statistical analysis and quality software tools.
