Accounts Assistant

Job Overview

Established for over 40 years, Continental Steel is a premier steel supplier in Southeast Asia.  We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our team. This is a junior position suitable for someone with some accounting experience who is willing to learn and comfortable handling day-to-day accounting and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily accounting entries and maintain accurate records in the accounting system

Handle basic bookkeeping and data entry

Assist with accounts receivable, including collections and follow-up on outstanding payments

Prepare payments through internet banking

Perform bank reconciliations

Assist in preparing debtor and creditor ageing reports

Maintain proper filing and documentation of invoices, payment records and other accounting documents

Support the Finance team in the transition to a new ERP system

Provide general administrative support to the Finance team

Assist with other accounting duties as assigned

Requirements

Diploma / LCCI in Accounting, Finance or equivalent qualification

Some prior accounting or bookkeeping experience is preferred; candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience are welcome to apply

Basic knowledge of accounting principles

Prior experience using an ERP or accounting system would be an advantage

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central would be an added advantage, but is not required

Comfortable learning and working with new systems and processes

Familiar with Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications

Comfortable with routine accounting work, data entry and documentation

Organized with good attention to detail

Responsible, hands-on and willing to learn

Able to work independently as well as part of a team
