Job Summary

The APAC Data Management Analyst is a core member of the APAC Chief Data Office (CDO) Data Office.

The analyst ensures that data across CIB, Wealth Management, ALMT and all Group functions (Risk, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Procurement, etc.) is trustworthy, compliant, and ready to support business decisions and regulatory reporting.

The role combines deep data management expertise (as defined by the Enterprise Data Management framework) with strong project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

What is this position about?

The role is a Data Management Analyst within the APAC Chief Data Office. The analyst will:

  • Govern and improve data quality across the APAC region, covering all Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) business lines (Global Markets, Global Banking, Securities Services) plus Wealth Management (WM) and Asset Liability Management (ALMT).
  • Support regulatory and risk management initiatives by ensuring that data used by APAC businesses meets regional regulations (MAS, HKMA, RBI) and Group standards (Basel IV, BCBS 239, etc.).
  • Coordinate cross functional data projects that involve multiple business line and Group wide functions such as Risk, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Human Resources.
  • Help define and execute the APAC data management roadmap, translating Group data policies into operational practices for the region.
  • Facilitate data governance community activities, providing leadership, monitoring data quality metrics, and driving remediation actions when needed.

What would your typical day at BNPP Paribas look like?

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for data sourcing, usage, quality and retention; review and update the data management policy or playbook in response to internal reviews, new legislation, or changes to Group requirements.
  • Create and continuously update data lineage diagrams for APAC specific data across CIB, ALMT, Wealth Management and Group functions (Risk, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Procurement, etc.).
  • Define and monitor data quality control indicators for the region’s critical data sets, working with Data Domain Managers (DDMs) to implement them.
  • Guide DDMs in designing, tracking and executing remediation plans that improve data quality across all covered business lines.
  • Contribute to the implementation and deployment of monitoring tools and dashboards (Python, Power BI, Collibra) to provide real time data quality visibility.
  • Coordinate and support projects focused on data quality improvement and data sourcing from the Bank’s various businesses and functions.
  • Assess and steer the impact of major regulatory developments on APAC data (e.g., HKMA, MAS, Basel IV, BCBS 239, TRIM, other local regulations).
  • Conduct change management and data acculturation initiatives to embed data governance best practices throughout the region.
  • Actively contribute to the data community governance framework, providing support, leadership and performance monitoring.
  • Participate in and deliver additional cross functional projects undertaken by the APAC CDO Office.
  • Coordinate across Group, Head Office, business lines, IT and other stakeholders to align data initiatives, validate the local operating model against the central model, and resolve inter dependency issues.
  • Conduct B case assessments and manage projects related to the APAC CDO Office’s data scope across the Bank’s businesses.
  • Oversee regulatory impact analysis for the APAC CDO Office’s data scope, adapting processes to meet evolving compliance requirements.
  • Promote a data driven culture through stakeholder engagement, training sessions and clear communication of data governance outcomes.
  • Collaborate with all business & function teams on data related matters.

What Is Required for You to Succeed?

Experience

  • 6 + years of hands on data management experience in a banking environment, covering at least two of the following: CIB (Global Markets, Global Banking, Securities Services), Wealth Management, ALMT, or Group functions (Risk,

Finance, Legal, Compliance, Procurement)

  • Proven delivery of data quality, data governance or data integration projects that involve multiple business lines and cross regional teams.
  • Direct experience assessing and implementing the impact of major regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel IV, BCBS 239, TRIM, APAC specific rules such as MAS, HKMA, RBI).

Key Skills & Competence

  • Technical: Strong proficiency with data catalogue/lineage tools (Collibra or equivalent), Python and SQL for automated quality checks, and Power BI (or Tableau) for reporting.
  • Project Management: Solid knowledge of PMI/PRINCE2 or Agile methodologies; ability to produce clear artefacts, status updates and steering committee presentations.
  • Regulatory & Governance: Deep understanding of APAC data privacy and banking regulations; capability to translate regulatory mandates into data quality controls and remediation plans.
  • Analytical mindset: Detail oriented, proactive, and able to collaborate across functions.
  • Communication: Excellent written and oral communication, strong problem solving abilities, and the capacity to organise and multitask in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Interpersonal: Proven ability to build relationships internally and externally, and to influence senior stakeholders (e.g., CEOs/COOs, APAC CIO/CTO/CISO, Head of Operations).
  • Process optimization: Skilled at simplifying, optimizing and adapting processes, policies or procedures to meet changing business needs.

Required Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) – highly desirable.
  • Data governance or data management certification (e.g., DAMA CDMP, Collibra Certified Data Governance Specialist) – a plus.
