Tech Lead

We are looking for an experienced  Tech Lead  to drive technical excellence and lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade applications.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to architect scalable and secure solutions, mentor engineers, and champion modern software engineering and DevOps practices. You will balance strategic thinking with deep technical involvement to ensure our solutions are robust, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and architecture of scalable, high-performance applications using  Java and modern cloud-native technologies.

Drive technical decision-making and guide system design, coding standards, development practices, and engineering quality.

Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and technical excellence.

Collaborate with product managers, architects, clients, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.

Lead code reviews and ensure adherence to quality, security, maintainability, and performance standards.

Champion  DevOps and CI/CD practices, including the automation of build, testing, and deployment pipelines.

Troubleshoot complex production issues and lead root cause analysis and resolution efforts.

Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities to improve engineering practices and drive innovation.

Support  Agile/Scrum  delivery, including sprint planning, technical estimation, reviews, and retrospectives.

Requirement

10+ years of professional software development experience, with strong expertise in Java.

Deep proficiency in  Spring Boot and the Spring Framework ecosystem.

Hands-on experience with build and dependency management tools such as  Maven.

Strong knowledge of  JUnit, Mockito, and modern software testing practices, including Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Solid understanding of  SQL, relational databases (RDBMS), and PostgreSQL, including database design and performance optimisation.

Proficiency with  Git/GitHub  and collaborative software development workflows.

Hands-on experience with  Docker  containerisation and deployment.

Strong  Linux administration  and shell scripting skills.

Working knowledge of  Python  for scripting and automation.

Proven technical leadership experience, including mentoring developers and leading technical teams.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders and build trusted working relationships.

Good to have:

Experience with  Kubernetes  and  Helm  chart management.

Familiarity with  Argo CD  and GitOps-based continuous delivery.

Hands-on experience with observability tools such as  Grafana and Loki.

Knowledge of workflow orchestration using  Apache Airflow.

Experience with  AWS, particularly services such as  Aurora, EKS, and S3.

Exposure to  AI Engineering  and AI-assisted development tools such as  Claude Code  or similar platforms.

Strong understanding of  microservices architecture and distributed systems.

Familiarity with  Infrastructure as Code (IaC)  tools such as  Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

Knowledge of  secure coding practices and DevSecOps principles.

Experience working in  Agile/Scrum  environments.
