Occupational Therapists - WCAN

Responsibilities for Occupational Therapists:

Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.

Assess clients and develop individualized care plans with appropriate treatment goals.

Provide occupational therapy interventions for patients in inpatient wards.

Plan and implement therapy programmes for clients with dementia, psychiatric conditions, musculoskeletal disorders, and neurological conditions.

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team during case discussions and progress review meetings.

Supervise Therapy Assistants (TAs), volunteers, and Occupational Therapists under conditional registration.

Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to Therapy Assistants, caregivers, and junior Occupational Therapists.

Support the education and professional development of the rehabilitation team on occupational therapy-related practices.

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research projects to enhance patient care and service delivery.

Qualifications for Occupational Therapists:

Recognized Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.

Full registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) is required.

Preferably at least 3 years of relevant clinical experience.

Passionate about working with elderly patients, particularly those with neurological, musculoskeletal, or mental health conditions.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
