Job Summary

The Construction Manager oversees construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards while coordinating with stakeholders and managing site activities.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement detailed project plans with clear goals, objectives, and timelines to guide construction activities

Establish and control project budgets to minimize expenses and ensure financial efficiency

Oversee on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards

Select, evaluate, and monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure performance meets project requirements

Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to align project progress and resolve issues

Identify potential risks including safety hazards, delays, and cost overruns, and implement mitigation strategies

Ensure construction work meets quality standards by identifying defects and overseeing their rectification

Develop and manage project schedules to meet milestones and deadlines consistently

Enforce safety management protocols to maintain safe construction sites and compliance with regulations

Prepare and submit comprehensive project reports covering progress, costs, and quality metrics

Required competencies and certifications

Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field

Professional certification as a Construction Manager (CCM) or equivalent

Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing construction projects

Knowledge of building codes, fire protection accessories codes, regulations, and safety standards

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Proven leadership and management skills to guide teams and contractors effectively
