Gardener

Job Description

Maintain the school’s green spaces, urban farm, grow towers and hydroponics system.

Carry out watering, pruning, fertilizing, weeding, trimming and mulching.

Monitor plant health and manage pest and fungal issues using appropriate treatments.

Conduct regular inspections and perform minor repairs where required.

Maintain cleanliness and organize gardening equipment and supplies.

Support Environmental Club CCA activities and guide students during practical sessions.

Assist with Primary 4 & 5 Urban Farming and Hydroponics Project Work.

Prepare materials and equipment for student activities.

Monitor seed germination, transplanting and harvesting of vegetables.

Check and maintain the hydroponics system, including water, nutrients and temperature.

Perform other related gardening and urban farming duties as required.

Requirements

Knowledge and skills in gardening, horticulture and plant maintenance.

Experience in trimming, pruning, irrigation and soil management.

Knowledge of safe handling and application of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers.

Experience in plant propagation, cultivation and maintenance of fruits and vegetables.

Basic knowledge of hydroponic systems and troubleshooting.

Prior school gardening, horticulture or urban farming experience is an advantage.

Experience working with children or in an educational environment is preferred
