Product Designer (Souvenir & Merchandise Development)

Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Product Designer to develop Singapore-inspired souvenirs and merchandise for tourists and local customers. You will manage the full development cycle, from research and concept design through production, balancing creativity, cost, quality, and timelines.

Responsibilities

· Research market trends, customer preferences, and Singapore’s culture and heritage to identify product opportunities.

· Develop original concepts to meaningful, commercially appealing products for tourists and local customers through sketches, illustrations, 2D layouts, and 3D models, considering functionality, aesthetics, and manufacturing feasibility.

· Prepare supplier-ready specifications, technical drawings, material selections, and artwork.

· Review prototypes, product samples, and packaging, providing clear feedback to improve design and quality.

· Work with suppliers to resolve technical issues and align materials, production methods, costs, and timelines.

· Collaborate with internal teams on branding, packaging, retail needs, and product launches.

· Manage multiple projects, maintain organised design files, and track development milestones.

Requirements

· Minimum 2 years of product or industrial design experience, preferably in souvenirs, gifts, lifestyle merchandise, or consumer goods.

· Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with relevant 3D modelling and rendering skills using tools such as Rhino, SolidWorks, or KeyShot.

· Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, printing, finishes, and packaging.

· Experience preparing technical specifications, reviewing samples, and coordinating with suppliers.

· Strong attention to detail, organisational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin to discuss technical specifications, sample revisions, and production requirements with China-based suppliers.
