Trade Accountant - Commodities

I am looking for a Trade Accountant to handle trade transactions and

management reporting for commodity trading business. This role involves

preparing daily trade P&L reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards,

and supporting smooth collaboration between trading, operations, and finance

teams.

about the job

Record and reconcile all trade-related transactions in commodity products, including recognition of sales, purchases, freight and other related expenses

Prepare daily trade P&L and mark-to-market reports

Ensure timely and accurate recording of invoices, payments and trade-related accruals or adjustments for month-end closing

Maintain supporting documentation for intercompany transactions relating to commodity products to ensure compliance with transfer pricing requirements

Collaborate with traders, operations and finance teams to support smooth business operations

Maintain proper documentation to support the company’s Global Trader Programme (GTP) status

Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and International

Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

Maintain audit readiness and attend to queries and requirements from internal and external auditors

skills and experience required

Experience in trade accounting within the commodity trading industry

Good understanding of accounting principles and Incoterms

Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
