Network & Security Technical Lead

Job Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the deployment, implementation and integration of customers’ Enterprise IT Network and Security Services.

Work closely with Project Managers to ensure technical deliverables, project timelines, quality standards and customer requirements are achieved.

Act as the Technical Lead for medium to large-scale network and security projects.

Provide technical leadership, direction and guidance to network/security engineers throughout project implementation.

Remain hands-on in the design, configuration, implementation, migration, troubleshooting and validation of network and security solutions.

Lead technical implementation involving:Cisco routers and switchesAlcatel network switchesCheck Point firewallsPalo Alto firewallsFortinet / FortiGate firewalls

Review existing network environments and recommend appropriate implementation or migration approaches.

Lead network and firewall migration, upgrade and infrastructure refresh activities.

Provide technical guidance on LAN/WAN/WLAN, routing, switching and network security implementation.

Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex network, firewall, connectivity and security-related issues.

Act as the technical escalation point for engineers and customers during implementation and production issues.

Coordinate with internal teams, customers and principal vendors to resolve complex technical problems.

Establish and manage TAC/vendor support cases until resolution.

Review technical designs, implementation plans, network diagrams, test plans and project documentation prepared by the engineering team.

Develop and review test cases and proof-of-concept activities for new hardware/software prior to deployment.

Ensure implementation activities are properly tested, validated and documented.

Provide technical mentoring and guidance to engineers assigned to the project.

Support and lead scheduled after-office-hours implementation and maintenance activities where required.

Job Requirements

Strong hands-on experience with Cisco, Alcatel, Check Point, Palo Alto and Fortinet technologies.

Proven experience leading enterprise network and security infrastructure implementation or migration projects.

Strong hands-on knowledge of Cisco routing and switching technologies.

Strong experience with enterprise firewall deployment, configuration, migration and troubleshooting.

Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, WLAN, routing, switching, VLAN, TCP/IP and network security.

Ability to lead engineers and provide technical direction during complex implementations and troubleshooting.

Experience handling complex technical escalations and coordinating with principal vendors.

Experience with F5, Aruba, Cisco ISE, SolarWinds or A10 will be an advantage.

Cloud infrastructure/networking experience will be an advantage.

Cisco certification such as CCNP is preferred.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Strong communication, customer-facing and technical documentation skills.

Self-motivated and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced project environment.

Able to work flexible hours, particularly during scheduled after-office-hours implementation and maintenance windows.
