Stellenbeschreibung
The Area Construction Manager (ACM) –Modular Fabrication will lead and manage all construction activities related to the off-site modular fabrication of facilities buildings for the project. This role is responsible for overseeing the fabrication, quality assurance, and delivery readiness of modular building units at designated fabrication yards, ensuring seamless integration with site construction activities and alignment with the project's overall schedule, budget, and HSE objectives. The ACM will serve as the primary interface between the EPC contractor, modular fabricators, and the on-site construction team.
Responsibilities
Modular Fabrication Oversight
· Manage and oversee modular fabrication activities for facilities buildings at assigned fabrication yards, ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
· Review and approve fabrication execution plans, shop drawings, work packs, and inspection & test plans(ITPs) prior to commencement of fabrication.
· Monitor fabrication progress against baseline schedules and productivity metrics, implementing corrective actions to mitigate delays.
· Ensure fabrication sequencing and module completion align with site installation requirements and transportation logistics.
Quality Assurance & Technical Compliance
· Establish and maintain a receipt and approval process for contractor technical submittals, shop drawings, and material certifications.
· Coordinate factory acceptance testing (FAT) and inspections during off-site fabrication, ensuring modules comply with design specifications and building codes.
· Ensure all fabrication work meets project quality requirements and applicable regulatory standards(including building codes, life safety, and accessibility where relevant).
· Review and resolve non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
HSE Leadership
· Drive a zero-incident safety culture across assigned fabrication yards, ensuring compliance with project HSE standards and regulatory requirements.
· Conduct regular safety audits and site inspections at fabrication facilities, ensuring safe work practices and hazard mitigation.
· Promote and implement lessons learned to continuously improve safety performance in off-site fabrication environments.
Interface Coordination & Planning
· Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and site construction teams to ensure alignment on module design, interfaces, and delivery sequencing.
· Participate in constructability reviews, 3D model reviews, and completion reviews to ensure modular design is fabrication- and transport-friendly.
· Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure modules are prepared for safe transport from fabrication yard to site, including considerations for sea/land transport and temporary packaging removal.
· Manage interface issues between fabrication yard activities and site readiness, ensuring site work is not impeded by module delivery variations.
Project Controls & Reporting
· Monitor fabrication costs, progress, and productivity against approved baselines; report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
· Prepare and present regular progress reports to project stakeholders, highlighting achievements, risks, and mitigation actions.
· Manage change orders and ensure all scope changes are properly documented and approved before implementation.
· Maintain accurate records off abrication progress, inspections, and handover documentation.
Handover & Closeout Support
· Support the handover process from fabrication to site installation, ensuring complete documentation packages are delivered.
· Coordinate with commissioning teams to ensure fabrication-related punch list items are resolved timely.
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combination of technical training and experience will be considered.
· Minimum 10+ years of progressive construction management experience, with at least 5 years in modular fabrication and/or off-site construction for large-scale industrial projects.
· Prior experience on LNG, oil& gas, or heavy industrial projects required; experience with fabrication yard oversight strongly preferred.
· Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary fabrication teams, subcontractors, and vendor relationships.
· Sound understanding of modular construction processes, including volumetric module fabrication, testing, and transport considerations.
· Proficiency in projects cheduling, cost control, and progress measurement systems.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and fabrication documentation.
· Familiarity with quality management systems and inspection protocols in fabrication environments.
· Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with proven experience leading large, distributed teams.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating across multiple stakeholders (EPC contractor, fabricators, engineering, site teams).
· Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing project conditions.
· Willingness to travel regularly to fabrication yards and project site as required (significant travel expected).
· Experience with LNG modular projects on the U.S. Gulf Coast.
· Prior experience working with EPC contractors on modular LNG facilities.
· Knowledge of U.S. building codes and regulatory requirements applicable to industrial facilities buildings.
· Experience with transportation logistics for oversized modules (barge, RoRo, or land transport).
