Our Water Business would like to hire a Mechanical Engineer to be part of the team managing Mechanical matters onsite at Tuas Water Reclamation Plant Project; with 5 working days in a week.
The role will oversee all Mechanical Building Services matters for the construction of the Water Treatment Facilities; Monitor, support, and guide the implementation of all mechanical works, either designed by the Consultant or by the Contractors including the procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of all the mechanical-related works.
Main duties:
Work under the direction of CRE/Project Manager who oversees all MEICA engineering.
Review and understand the Mechanical and Building Services scope, BIM, specifications, and drawings for all Mechanical works.
Understand and follow plans, procedures, workflows, systems and tools for the supervision of a specific facility.
Work with the BIM model for the Mechanical, Building Services, and other MEICA works.
Provide regular updates to the Engineering Manager and CRE on related technical and engineering issues.
Work closely with the CRE to understand the technical and engineering issues facing each contract, prioritize and work closely with each discipline team to resolve the issues.
Provide technical leadership (Mechanical and Building Services Engineering) on all related technical and engineering issues within the project team.
Enforce specifications, statutory requirements, and codes of practice.
Liaise closely with Engineering Manager and design team on the review and approval of contractor submissions including calculations, BIM models, drawings, materials, method statements, workmanship, etc.
Ensure consistent and thorough reviews of the Contractors’ submittals have been done throughout the submittal approval process.
Ensure inspection documentation fully complies with local authorities’ and project requirements.
Verify that safety and environmental standards and risks are addressed in submittal reviews and monitor safety and environmental compliance during construction, installation, testing and commissioning.
Provide technical input and assistance in contract-related matters.
Liaise and coordinate relevant technical issues with REs of other disciplines.
Ensure the adequacy of engineering, inspection, and testing functions for all contracts.
Define and oversee special inspection and testing requirements and ensure coordination of these efforts across all contracts within the project.
Ensure that consistent quality standards and conformance with design plans and specifications are maintained across all contracts.
Ensure the contractors’ documentation of their work meets the required project standards.
Keep abreast of Contractors’ progress and performance and provide recommendations for improvements when a gap is identified.
Carry out keeping and maintenance of site records and carry out periodical checks of site records maintained by RTO to ensure records are up to date and in good order.
Keep abreast of monthly Work Progress Reports
When requested, provide an independent assessment of the certification of the value of work completed and recommendation of progress payments to be made to Contractors.
Ensure that the use of compatible materials and equipment is well coordinated.
Attendance in meetings, discussions with clients, contractors and to lead in technical discussions.
To be a successful candidate, you shall possess:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering recognized by Singapore PEB.
RE registration will be an added advantage.
Between 5 and 10 years of relevant experience in the mechanical & Building Services design and construction of infrastructure projects in Singapore. Experience in the design and implementation of mechanical & building services works including site testing and commissioning of mechanical & building services systems.
Experience in generating/reviewing Design Calculations related to Mechanical Equipment and Accessories.
Proficiency in multidisciplinary coodnation, interface management, and resolution of cross-functional engineering issues.
Conversant in statutory code and requirements.
Willingness to be initially based at the site office and progressively build up a career to be a future lead mechanical engineer within Jacobs.
