Senior Systems Engineer

Asa Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in our technical deliveryteam by working with a Client Technology Manager (CTM) to drive the technologyprograms, including Cloud implementation and support, desktop engineeringescalation and networking for a defined portfolio of clients. Using latest andgreatest technologies and solutions, you will support the client’s innovationby following a set of standards and best practices in a rapidly evolvingtechnology landscape.

In this hybrid role, you may be dedicated to one of our flagship clients orsupport multiple clients

Responsibilities

·      Collaborate with, and act as atier 3 escalation point for Client Technology Management, Service Desk,Engineering and other client support teams

·      Provide advanced support of cloudinfrastructures such as Microsoft 365/Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), GoogleCloud Platform (GCP), and ECI’s proprietary technology

·      Implement and manage enterprisemail platform and security systems such as Microsoft Exchange, GoogleWorkspace, Proofpoint Essentials and Mimecast

·      Execute basic tasks on enterpriseswitching, routing, security and wireless systems like VLAN changes, ACLupdates, key rotations, and port reconfigurations

·      Take ownership of complextechnical challenges and provide long term fixes based on root cause analysis

·      Document processes and procedureswhich explain system functionality or regular tasks to contribute to ourinternal knowledge base including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and standardoperating procedures (SOP)

·      Audit undocumented clientenvironments and provide technical recommendations based on findings

·      Apply best-practiceconfigurations to client security platforms such as Azure Active DirectoryConditional Access, DUO Multifactor Authentication (MFA) services, andzero-trust services such as Cloudflare and iBoss

·      Provide high-level consultationon information security fundamentals such as good password hygiene practices,multi-factor authentication recommendations and social-engineering defense

·      Perform system maintenance tasksincluding software and operating system patching, software version upgrades,critical patch applications, and vulnerability remediation

·      Provide advanced support ofActive Directory such as Domain Controller upgrades, Group Policy creation,scheduled software deployments, network policy maintenance, and certificatemanagement

·      Interface with common technologysupport tools such as Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM), MobileDevice/Mobile Application Management, Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware

·      Collaborate cross-functionally toensure successful delivery of project implementations, migrations, andupgrades

·      Acting as a technical lead forsmall projects and maintain accountability to delivery of scope

Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s Degree in anInformation Technology related field, or 3+ years comparable experience in atechnology administration role

·      Advanced knowledge of MicrosoftOperating Systems such as Windows Server and Windows 10/11

·      Administration experience withPublic Cloud platforms with focus in Microsoft 365 and Azure

·      Experience in administration ofe-mail platforms and security integrations such as Exchange Online, GoogleWorkspace, Proofpoint Essentials, and Mimecast

·      Experience in virtualizationadministration on platforms such as VMware vSphere and Hyper-V

·      Hands on experience in deploymentand management of routing, switching, wireless, and security appliancetechnologies using vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, and Meraki

·      Proficient in incident responsemanagement during security events and high-priority escalations, as well asdisaster recovery and business continuity activations

·      Exceptional written and oralcommunication skills

·      Exceptional interpersonal skills,with a focus on rapport-building and managing expectations

·      Highly self-motivated anddirected, in a fast-paced team environment

·      Sharp attention to detail withproven analytical and critical thinking skills

·      Effective time management andexcellent prioritization skills

·      Able to travel for business andwork beyond normal business hours when necessary

·      Able to lift and transportmoderately heavy equipment such as computers, power supplies and servers inexcess of 50lbs

Preferred Skills

·      Experience with Managed ServiceProviders (MSP) preferred

·      Financial Services or LifeScience industry experience a plus

·      Certifications in cloud services,network management or cyber-security, such as CCNA, CISSP, Azure Fundamentalsand VCP a plus but not required

·      Experience in technical projectmanagement as applied to data/infrastructure migrations, relocations, majorsystem upgrades, and new site deployments

Working Conditions
