Environmental Engineer (Certification)

About the Role

Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and looking to make a meaningful impact? We are seeking a dedicated  Environmental Engineer  to join our team and lead the development and implementation of eco-certification schemes and advisory projects. You will play a key role in promoting sustainable practices across industries through technical expertise and strategic program development.

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Certifications – Development

Develop new SGLS product criteria and eco-certification schemes.

Design and implement training and assessment programs for sustainability.

Conduct periodic reviews and updates of certification programs.

Environmental Certifications – Evaluation

Evaluate applications against established criteria.

Analyse SGLS data to identify business opportunities and challenges.

Conduct on-site audits and manage accreditation processes.

Supervise auditors and respond to certification-related complaints and appeals.

Advisory Projects

Collaborate with Business Development to assess and implement sustainability projects.

Provide technical inputs and draft client reports.

Audits & Accreditation

Manage GENICES and ISO17065 accreditation activities.

Lead discussions and ensure compliance with audit requirements.

Other Duties

Support major organisational events.

Perform other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.

Job Requirements

Degree in Environmental, Chemical Engineering or related fields.

Strong knowledge of carbon emission protocols (SBTi, GHG Protocol, Paris Agreement).

Familiarity with waste management regulations and ESG frameworks.

Experience with ISO standards (14001, 14024, 17065, 14064/14065).

Proficient in Sustainability Reporting (GRI, SDG).

Excellent analytical, research, and stakeholder management skills.

Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.

Proficient in MS Office and fluent in English.
