The Role

We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded transactional lawyer looking to build a specialist practice in our commodities group's climate and structured finance team.

This is an opportunity to join a top-rated international law firm and work alongside market-leading lawyers on complex cross-border commodities, structured finance, derivatives and climate finance transactions.

Requirements and Skills

3–4 PQE with a transactional finance background

Strong academic track record with a minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent

Experience in banking and finance, structured finance, derivatives, asset finance or commodity finance transactions

Excellent drafting, negotiation and transaction management skills

Experience reviewing and negotiating finance and commercial documentation

Sound analytical and problem-solving skills

Good commercial awareness and an interest in commodities, finance and energy markets

Attention to detail and good practical transaction management skills

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple matters simultaneously

Efficient, organised and able to demonstrate excellent time management skills

A team player with effective written and verbal communication skills

Confident, proactive and able to take ownership of assigned work whilst recognising when to seek support and guidance

Personable and able to communicate comfortably with colleagues, counterparties and clients

Cross-border transactions involving clients, financial institutions and commodity market participants across Asia and beyond

You will work directly with clients and counterparties on a variety of matters, taking ownership of keywork streams while developing specialist expertise in the commodities space.
