ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated  Cargo Executive  to join our team in Singapore and manage day-to-day cargo operations for  South Asian airline.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of  5years of relevant experience in airline cargo or in freight forwarding and be comfortable working in a fast-paced aviation environment.

This is an operational and customer-facing role requiring strong coordination skills and the ability to work closely with airline, freight forwarders, ground handling companies and customers.

Candidates with  Dangerous Goods Regulations(DGR) certification  will have an advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

●       Act as a key point of contact for freight forwarders, cargo agents, shippers, and consignees.

●       Manage and coordinate cargo sales in order to achieve monthly cargo targets.

●       Handle cargo bookings and coordinate shipment space and Coordinate cargo movements.

●       Monitor flight schedules, cargo capacity, shipment cut-off times, and operational requirements.

●       Coordinate with airline cargo departments and ground handling agents to ensure smooth cargo acceptance and loading.

●       Monitor shipment status from booking through to departure and arrival.

●       Follow up on delayed, offloaded, rolled-over, short-shipped, or irregular cargo.

Documentation & AWB

●       Prepare and verify  Air Waybills(AWB)  and related cargo documentation.

●       Ensure cargo documentation is accurate and complete before shipment acceptance.

●       Coordinate with freight forwarders and customers to resolve documentation discrepancies.

●       Maintain accurate cargo records and operational reports.

Customer & Agent Coordination

●       Respond promptly to customer enquiries regarding bookings, rates, shipment status, flight schedules, and cargo requirements.

●       Maintain good relationships with existing cargo agents and customers.

●       Assist in developing and maintaining business relationships with freight forwarders handling South Asian cargo.

●       Handle customer complaints and operational issues professionally and efficiently.

Warehouse & Ground Handling

●       Coordinate with warehouse and ground handling teams regarding cargo acceptance, storage, build-up, breakdown, and delivery.

●       Ensure cargo is presented within airline cut-off times.

●       Monitor cargo handling and ensure shipments are processed according to airline and airport procedures.

●       Follow up on damaged, missing, short, or incorrectly handled cargo.

Compliance & Safety

●       Ensure all cargo activities comply with applicable airline, airport, customs, security, and aviation requirements.

●       Ensure appropriate procedures are followed for special cargo.

●       Support the handling of  Dangerous Goods (DGR)  in accordance with applicable regulations, where qualified.

●       Maintain a high standard of operational safety and security.

●       Immediately escalate cargo irregularities, safety concerns, or compliance issues to management.

Administration & Reporting

●       Maintain accurate cargo and customer records.

●       Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.

●       Assist with cargo billing, invoicing, revenue reconciliation, and documentation when required.

●       Monitor shipment performance and identify operational issues or areas for improvement.

●       Perform other cargo-related duties assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential

●       Minimum  5 years of relevant experience  in:

o   Airline cargo sales and operations

o   Air Freight Company

●       Must be  legally eligible to live and work in Singapore.

●       Good understanding of international air cargo procedures.

●       Practical experience with  AWB, cargo documentation, bookings, shipment tracking, and flight coordination.

●       Experience dealing with airlines, freight forwarders, ground handlers, or cargo warehouses.

●       Good written and spoken English.

●       Strong communication and inter personal skills.

●       Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

●       Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.

●       Good computer skills, particularly  Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

●       Willingness to work according to airline operational requirements, including weekends or shifts where necessary.

Advantageous

●        IATA/ DGR certification.

●       Experience with Singapore cargo market.

●       Experience working directly with an airline cargo division.

●       Experience with airline cargo management systems.

●       Existing relationships with freight forwarders and cargo agents in Singapore.

●       Experience with special cargo such as perishables, pharmaceuticals, valuable cargo, live animals, or other controlled/special shipments.
