[Expression of Interest] OT / ICS Security Engineer

Recruit123 is partnering with our client, an established organization operating Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) and mission-critical operational systems in Singapore, to hire an OT / ICS Security Engineer. In this role, you will bridge the gap between IT security and physical operations, securing Industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) against cyber threats while maintaining high availability and operational safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain robust OT cybersecurity architectures and defense-in-depth controls aligned with the Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture and ISA/IEC 62443 standards.

Deploy, administer, and tune specialized OT security monitoring and asset discovery platforms (e.g., Nozomi Networks, Claroty, Dragos, Tenable OT).

Implement secure network segmentation, industrial firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), unidirection gateways (data diodes), and hardened remote access solutions across OT zones.

Conduct regular OT threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and technical risk reviews in collaboration with plant operations and automation engineers.

Develop safe patch management, backup, and disaster recovery procedures tailored to legacy and proprietary industrial hardware.

Ensure organizational compliance with Singapore regulatory mandates, specifically the Cybersecurity Act and the CSA Cybersecurity Code of Practice (CCoP) for Critical Information Infrastructure (CII).

Participate in OT-specific incident response, digital forensics, threat containment, and table-top exercises for industrial network anomalies.

Collaborate closely with site operations, instrumentation teams, and IT SOC analysts to bridge technical and cultural IT/OT gaps.

Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Instrumentation & Control, or a related discipline.

Minimum 3 to 6 years of practical experience in OT/ICS cybersecurity, industrial network engineering, or SCADA/automation engineering.

Strong familiarity with industrial networking architectures, the Purdue Model, and industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA/DA, Profinet, BACnet, DNP3).

Working knowledge of OT security standards (IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82) and Singapore CSA CCoP guidelines.

Experience deploying and managing industrial firewalls, IDS/IPS, or OT network anomaly detection tools.

Industry certifications are strongly advantageous (e.g., GIAC GICSP, GRID, GCIP, ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Expert, CISSP).

Safety-first mindset with an understanding of plant reliability, low latency, and zero-downtime requirements in 24/7 production or utility environments.
