Senior Associate (Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions)

Collyer Law LLC is looking for a senior associate (with 5-8 years of PQE) with experience in the practice areas of Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity and Venture Capital. We are an award-winning boutique Singapore law firm that is poised well for further growth.

Key responsibilities /attributes of role

As a Senior Associate, you will be involved with a full spectrum of cross-border corporate M&A and transactional work, particularly in sectors associated with technology, life-sciences or innovative industries. On M&A deals, we usually act as Singapore Counsel, working with International Counsel or other top-tier Asian law firms, for acquirers and selling shareholders. On PE/VC deals, we act as company counsel, and sometimes for marque investors. You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating a broad range of corporate transactional documents including Share Purchase Agreements, Asset Purchase Agreements, Share Subscription Agreements, Convertible Notes, Restated and Amended Shareholders’ Agreements and ancillary transaction documents.

You will be supporting the Directors in supervising deals and matters that they bring in, and mentoring more junior lawyers. If you have the appetite and flair, we will involve you in new business development and growth initiatives through participation in strategic projects with high business impact and visibility. You must have an ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, where you will learn to think on your feet, and take a commercial view, while advising on significant matters.

Key requirements include:

At least 5-8 years' experience in top-tier Singapore or international law-firm

Professional admission as a lawyer/Advocate/Solicitor/Attorney in Singapore.

Excellent academic background.

Strong knowledge of law, and keen commercial judgement.

Significant experience in managing and executing large volumes of work

Excellent technical skills with a practical approach to problem-solving.

Ability to handle pressure and work to challenging deadlines.

Excellent English communication, both verbal as well as written.

Ability to work in a multi-cultural and collegiate law-firm environment, and to work both autonomously and as part of a team as and when required.
