Overview
We are seeking a commercially minded Commercial Executive / Estimation Executive to support tendering, cost estimation, procurement coordination, and contract administration for marine and offshore engineering projects. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, brokers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to prepare competitive tenders, manage commercial documentation, and support project execution from bid stage through contract delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Tendering & Cost Estimation
Review customer enquiries, tender specifications, and technical requirements.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, pricing breakdowns, and commercial submissions within project timelines.
Source quotations from equipment and material suppliers and evaluate proposals for cost competitiveness and technical compliance.
Consolidate labor, material, equipment, logistics, and foreign exchange costs into project estimates.
Identify commercial risks and critical project items during the tender stage.
Commercial & Contract Management
Coordinate and compile tender documents to ensure complete and compliant submissions.
Support tender reviews, commercial evaluations, cash flow projections, and contract negotiations.
Assist with procurement and commercial administration for awarded projects.
Monitor contract milestones, budgets, progress claims, guarantees, and payment schedules throughout project execution.
Supplier & Client Coordination
Liaise with clients, brokers, vendors, and subcontractors on commercial and technical matters.
Maintain strong working relationships with customers and suppliers to support ongoing business opportunities.
Coordinate equipment procurement and monitor delivery schedules to meet project milestones.
Work closely with engineering, procurement, and project teams to ensure smooth execution of awarded contracts.
Project & Commercial Support
Track project budgets, commercial commitments, and cost variations.
Support post-project reviews by gathering commercial and cost performance information.
Maintain accurate commercial records, contracts, and procurement documentation.
Contribute to continuous improvement of estimation templates, costing databases, and commercial processes.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in estimation, commercial, tendering, procurement, or project coordination within the marine, offshore, EPC, shipbuilding, or engineering industry.
Experience preparing project cost estimates and commercial proposals is preferred.
Basic understanding of marine equipment, engineering materials, and procurement processes.
Strong commercial awareness with good analytical and numerical skills.
Familiarity with contract administration, purchase agreements, and tender documentation is an advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Meticulous, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tenders and project deadlines simultaneously.
Willingness to travel to shipyards, client sites, or overseas for meetings when required.
