Job Description

About the opportunity

A well-established multinational group is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support its construction, engineering and EPC projects. This is a commercially focused role offering exposure to complex projects and senior stakeholders.

The role

You will provide end-to-end legal support across the project lifecycle, from tendering and contract negotiation through project execution, claims management and completion.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate EPC, EPCM, construction, engineering, procurement, supply, subcontracting and consultancy agreements
• Advise on project risks, variations, extensions of time, delay, liquidated damages, warranties and performance security
• Support tendering, contract administration and project delivery teams
• Manage claims, disputes and negotiations with contractors, subcontractors and other project stakeholders
• Work closely with commercial, procurement, engineering and project management teams
• Coordinate with external counsel and support arbitration, litigation or other dispute-resolution processes where required
• Develop contract templates, internal processes and risk-management practices

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with more than 6 years of post-qualification experience
• Strong experience in construction, engineering and EPC-related matters
• Experience gained in a reputable law firm and/or an in-house environment
• Familiarity with standard-form and bespoke construction contracts, including FIDIC-based contracts, would be advantageous
• Strong commercial judgment and the ability to provide practical, solutions-oriented advice
• Comfortable managing complex matters independently and working with senior stakeholders
