Legal Counsel (Maternity Cover)

Role Overview

The Legal Counsel will provide broad legal support across the business, partnering with internal stakeholders on financing, commercial, governance, compliance, and project-related matters. This role requires an experienced legal professional who can operate independently, provide practical legal advice, and contribute effectively from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Provide legal support on financing and transaction-related matters, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating relevant documentation.

Advise on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and corporate secretarial matters across the organization.

Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including service agreements, NDAs, consultancy agreements, and other business contracts.

Support project-related legal matters, including contract management, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement.

Identify and mitigate legal risks while ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Work closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel on legal and regulatory matters as required.

Assist with day-to-day legal operations and provide general legal support across the business.

Qualifications & Requirements

Qualified lawyer with approximately 7-8 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).

Prior in-house legal experience within a multinational corporation, infrastructure, real estate, construction, technology, or similar environment.

Strong foundation gained from a reputable law firm, preferably with a corporate, commercial, finance, or transactional practice background.

Experience handling financing transactions, commercial contracts, corporate governance, and compliance matters.

Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.

Strong drafting, negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and able to quickly familiarize themselves with ongoing matters.

Experience supporting regional or cross-border matters would be advantageous.

Contract Duration: 7 months (November 2026 to June 2027)
