Machinery Engineering Manager (Yishun)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Department: Monozukuri Engineering

Reports to: General Manager of Monozukuri Engineering Division

Functional relationships:

Machinery R&D division in Japan

Machinery Engineering section in ASEAN factory

POSITION PROFILE:

This position is to organize the activities for enhancement of production capability in ASEAN factories such as smart technology design, local machine fabrication, providing technical support to ASEAN factories and machine design collaboration with Japan HQ.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Policy, strategy alignment and coordination of project by collaborating with Japan HQ or other group company in Japan

To initiate periodical meetings with Japan HQ or other group company to solve problems in own Division

To provide technical support to ASEAN factories such as factory DX promotion, machine setup, machine modification and machine trouble shooting

To plan and arrange training session for machine engineers in ASEAN factories

To manage the task of Japanese and local vendors

To perform a machine maintenance capability assessment for oversea factory

To make department policy and permeate

To hold periodical meetings with headquarters and ASEAN factories

To manage tasks of subordinates

Ability/Competency required:

Bachelor’s degree or master's degree in mechanical engineering, robotic engineering or any related engineering field.

At least 8 years of working experiences in machine design or equivalent in manufacturing industry.

Proficiency in spoken and written Japanese, and business-level proficiency in spoken and written English, to support regular communication and coordination with Japan headquarters, Japanese-speaking business counterparts, and other overseas affiliates.

Having logical thinking, conceptual skill and good leadership

Having proactive attitude and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
